[DML] Re: LED lights and shift knobs - Review

I would just like to say that I ordered one of Tom's shift knobs - one with the brushed finish and shift pattern.  Shipping to DC from Poland took 10 days. 

It is beautiful.  The size is identical to the original, and the brushed finish looks MUCH better in person than the photos would suggest.  From the photos, I thought the finish would be more coarse.  I half-expected to have to go over it with my blending pad, but I was very wrong.  The finish is fine like the DMC exterior.  It matches the car well, and feels very soft in your hand - not abrasive like I expected.  Another unexpected benefit is that it reduces the shifting effort.  It does weigh 10 oz (according to my postage scale), so this makes sense.  Since it's stainless, it will get hot in the sun.  I consider this yet another benefit, since it will help with the bad habit of leaving your hand resting on it while driving.  :)  

At the same time I also ordered his heated convex mirrors, which also look great.  I like the idea of adding a feature for which the car was originally provisioned.  I haven't installed them, yet, but look forward to it since my original mirrors were chipped at several places along the edges.  

I feel like I got more than my money's worth so, if you're in the market, take a look.
