Re: [DML] Re: Wiper switch boke while I had steering column out of the car

It seems I have figured out where/how to get a replacement without
having to purchase the entire assembly from the friendly folks in
Houston. Here is the information I have found out.

This is a picture of what I pulled from the car today.

I looked all over the device and found several Lucas part numbers.
Here is every number I found on the thing:
4681
34209B
REG DES
LUCAS UK
4 PAT
AUST. 58203
164SA

It seems 164SA is the identifying part number. Upon searching this
number I found two other numbers that seem to cross reference it:
SQB167
30446

I searched high and low and was able to find a new wiper switch from
someone in the UK on eBay for approximately $70 USD after
international shipping.

Aside from the markings having a slightly different font, the part
seems to be identical. The wiring layout appears to be the same
although the cable looks like it is a bit shorter. I would probably
have to extend the cable to make it long enough but at least this
would be a new part.

I'm debating whether or not to spend the $70 USD though. I'll wait
and see what Dave has. Shoot, I might even just wire up a universal
switch from AutoZone instead of spending $70 on a switch from the UK.
