So a few months back I had the steering wheel/column out of my car. The unthinkable happened when I put the thing back in. I messed up and allowed the wiper switch to hit something and this resulted in it breaking away from the column. The lever is still intact but the metal inside of the column broke and now it is unable to firmly hold the lever in place. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to repair this? I tried to glue the lever in with epoxy but it wasn't strong enough. The washer function still works when I press the lever in but I can't move the lever up or down without it falling out. I am planning to make a long drive next month and I am thinking about hooking up a toggle switch directly to the wiring to turn the wipers on as a backup/workaround until I figure out how to get the lever to stay in there. Does anyone know if I can tap into any wires under the console? Thanks everyone. -Steve Rice Relying on Rainex #16510 ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
