If the seller takes offense at showing up with James' book, then the
only reasonable alternative is to simply show up with James himself.

He IS the walking, talking version of the book, with every page found
between his ears.  Some may argue he's less offensive than his book,
depending on both his choice of dress and cologne for that day.

Thinking more, the best price may be had by having James appear in a
tuxedo with a bottle of fine DeLorean wine

would take offense to such an elegant gesture???
