Re: [DML] Re: A message to prospective DeLorean owners

The way I look at it, if someone is too cheap to pay $30 for a book like this
when researching the purchase of a car, they are probably too smart for their
own good...

Thanks for the work James - I just ordered one!

Claude,

As I can't imagine you've ever seen the complete book, I find it
unfathomable that you can say "ALL the same answers" can be found online
with a "quick check". You specifically mention the DML, which is a great
resource but searching for any specific topic and finding useful information
can be a cumbersome and time consuming task, at best. Same for searching
anything on the internet, for that matter. This book puts all the *relevant*
information all in one place, sorted and organized, for quick and easy
reference.

I've never said this book was a "bible" (though others have referred to it
as such) I will say that there is nowhere else that you can get as much
concise, illustrated information all in one place and have it at your
fingertips at any time.

You mentioned "Different buyers who actually went through the process of
discovering all the flaws that come with buying a DeLorean" - those are the
same things that I have gone through a couple hundred times when
buying/selling/evaluating/appraising cars here at DMC. Everything from
sub-100 mile to 300,000 mile DeLoreans. Having all this information in hand
in one place is invaluable when evaluating a DeLorean to ensure the car you
buy has as few "flaws" as possible.

The problem with relying on the DML for "answers" is that you always must
consider the source and where they got their information. As someone who
works with these cars day in and day out for a living and has for many
years, I'm confident that the material in this book will be far more
accurate and reliable than something you might find on the internet from an
anonymous, nameless, faceless source.

Or you can come here on the DML and many..many..other sites for FREE, and as
many Hundreds of DML'ers have done with just a quick check can get ALL the
same answers as in your book.

Just on the DML alone there are more answers for Prospective DMC buyers, from
"hands on" Different buyers who actually went through the process of
discovering all the flaws that come with buying a Delorean

Not knocking down your book..just do NOT try to pass it off as the "Bible"
of Delorean ownership...the REAL experts on Delorean ownership are not only
you..but every owner who went through the process of ownership and
restoration..and relayed their "hands on experiences" and there are plenty
of examples on this site, with easy reference/lookup.

Kinda reminds me of when JZD was trying to sell that DMC watch for BIG
BUCKS(did anyone ever buy and sign that contract for the new generation DMC
Purchase)and where is that "NEW" Generation Prototype Delorean that JZD said
was MADE and being "tested"..supposed to do 0-60 in under five seconds.

I guess you can say that is a case of another Missing Delorean Prototype.
