Hi Andy, Im going to be the whackjob here, and ask why you are really soldering the connections? New cars produced today dont incorporate this tiny bit of additional connectivity, and it seems to be adding difficulty and risk (burning carpets, trim, etc) to the task. Why bother? Its easy enough to remove a crimp without cutting wires should an issue ever arise in the future. I add solder where its convenient and am trying to extract the largest current flow possible (battery cables) but anywhere else its a toss up. I have yet to find a wiring application where a crimped connection was inadequate and only a soldered connection would do. But what do i know, im just an EE/CmpSci guy!
