Hi JP, Welcome to the group of DeLorean owners. I'll try to be short in my replies: - maintenance cover screws: they are available from the various DMC locations (if I'm correct: 5mm type, no longer original though). - fuel tank gunk: that's a cleaning job that can be performed with the tank in place. Do a search on "cleaning fuel tank" here, or on DMCTalk and you will find a lot of useful info. - AFAIR, the rod in the tank is to prevent sparks from static build-up. This rod supposedly is brass, but I'm not sure of that.
