I've got something in between for my D. Alike Bill I use the 8,5mm MSD spark plug cables. I use a 40 kV Flamethrower. The resistor pack is only use half for both start and run. The gaps are set to 1.2mm (almost an inch). Combined with an electronic - computer adjustable - CPR the car runs great, smooth and fuel consumption is nice (32 Mi to a US Gallon, long hiway drives) if not speeding over 85 MpH.
