DeLorean steering columns with flexible couplings are not too far away....
I did not realize until searching Borgeson's site last night that Borgeson sells a wide variety of retrofit flexible couplings. I am going to buy one and have Laurinburg Machine weld it into #2508's column first, then #5939's column after #2508 is on the road later this year. There are a few other irons in the fire first, but this is something I've very much wanted for a long time (like the black carpets, which finally got done this spring), so I am definitely going to do it.
I will likely use an F150 sized coupling for ease of future replacement (no chance of the part becoming scarce, and they're cheap -- $5).
