That's why all electronic fuel injection systems have a limp home mode if they can no longer run closed loop. If it does, how do you restart the engine? If I'm understanding Megasquirt correctly, you have to de-energize the car to reboot the onboard computer. Turning the car off while it is moving doesn't seem like a good idea because you could accidentally lock the steering wheel.
