There was another accident that I remembered. I believe that I met the gentleman in the 90's at a DOA national convention. His car was somewhat customize and painted red. As I remember the story that he told was that he was going through an intersection when a woman in a big SUV ran the stop sign and ran over the front of his car. He was injured with a broken neck and said that he really couldn't moved. When the rescue squad came to his aid, they couldn't get in because the doors were locked. As they got the jaws of life ready to pry open the doors, he told them "NO!" and struggled with his left arm to get to the locks and unlock the car. At the DOA event, his was recovered. The car he had was the car that had been in the accident and he had pounded out the damaged metal and filled in with body filler and that is why his car was painted red. Must of been a fairly severe accident to break his neck, but he survived and rebuilt his car. As with any small car versus a large vehicle, the small vehicle will come out on the short end of the stick. I hope that we can just walk away from that accident or better yet, I hope that none of us every have to be put in the situation.
