Hey James...As for being "flippant and inaccurate comment about the occupants being "DOA", In THAT particular Test(the 40mph test) they would have either been vegetables or DOA..for lack of a secure door..Just look at how the door folded up like tin foil..(along with the rest of the car..and SS is Waaay stronger than human bones/flesh...Their internal organs would have been "compressing and distorting" in the same fashion as the car was..their heads would have been fine..but their brain(s) would have been shaking like jello in a bowl..not good if you plan on living... If those "were" real humans..they would have been goners..For one thing the Air bags were way over-sized for such a small confined space..and if you look at how the test dummies ended up..there was NO WAY they could have survived.. I sure as hell would NOT want to have been in that 40 mph crash..however the 35mph video shows a Very survivable crash..with maybe just very bad neck and leg injures ..again airbags that deployed with way to much force..
