[DML] Re: Anyone ever convert to CNG?

In Peru, everyone does this.  There are numerous garages in Lima (the capital) advertising the conversion for around $600.  There are two types that they use, CNG & LPG, but the taxi drivers will tell you that the LPG will cause your engine to fail prematurely.  It appears to work just as well, though the mileage is not as good as regular gasoline.

In Peru gasoline is more expensive, so that may be why they are "flying off the shelves" there.  There were few taxi cabs that I saw there that had *not* been converted.  All of the installs that I saw involved strapping down a large cylinder in the trunk.
