In real world tests of factory new DeLoreans, Road & Track got 19.5 combined city/highway MPG and Car & Driver got 18 combined MPG. Motor Trend got 26.8 actual MPG on a 73 mile closed loop (speed?). Window sticker EPA estimate was 21 combined MPG. If you are getting results similar to those, especially burning gasohol, I wouldn't worry about it. If in doubt, look at your spark plugs. They will tell you what's going on inside your combustion chambers. Steve Rice has reported 28 MPG with his carbureted DeLorean (~.048" jets) by holding his speed down, which should put to rest claims that carburetion is inherently fuel inefficient. I tried to run my own car on quite small jets once (.03x"), but it was way too lean -- the engine predetonated. > ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
