I got a message from the magazine. They assured me they have no intentions of hijacking anyone. I told them they are asking a lot to ask for anyone to allow them the use of their car for no compensation and no insurance coverage. My reply bounced but I expect they got it anyway. As always, use some common sense when dealing with anyone you do not know. At least make them feed you! The bounce message said the mail server "didn't like it". A couple of hours later I received a reply saying they can't afford to compensate because of a limited budget. This request has several "red flags". First, why did my e-mail bounce back when they obviously had to have received it to respond to me? Next, I googled the name and got nothing. Next, they cannot provide a Certificate of Insurance. Any "reputable" company does not go directly, they will go to a car broker to have them find and qualify a car. Finally, they never want you to drive the car to the shoot, preferring to have it transported so they KNOW they have it at the time and place it has to be. Typically they have to arrange many people and things to be available at a certain time and place and they HAVE to know they will have all of the pieces or they have nothing. I can't say this will happen but there have been instances where people were interested in buying a car. They arrange for a meeting place. You arrive and they carjack you. Might as well be delivering a pizza too! Respond to this request at your own risk (of course). > > David Teitelbaum > > > > --- In dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, doctorDHD@ wrote: > >> > >> > >> If anyone is interested in participating in this please contact them > >> directly.
