IMHO Covercraft's Weathershield car covers are the best. Basically heavy duty tent fabric (they sheet water incredibly well when new, losing ability with time of course). Custom sewn for the car with mirror pockets. I was very unhappy with Covercraft's Noah fabric. It becomes waterlogged when wet. It also lets an incredible amount of dust through. My white cars were perpetually coated with a layer of filth, even moreso than had I left them exposed. In my part of the world (34 degrees north) a car cover will last 5-6 years with direct sun exposure. I have "Wally World" car covers on my Delorean & '38 Buick- Budge brand. The cars are under a large condo carport, backing up to the building, so very minimal sun & rain hits them. Perhaps the environment/air is not conducive to longevity as the $25 covers tend to fall apart after ~1yr. Methinks a "higher quality", more expensive cover might be needed, but I have no idea what brand to consider or what price. Don't need lining for the "D" cover as it's "naked", but the Buick might benefit by a bit of extra protection. I'm open for suggestions. Any ideas or positive experiences I could consider? Thanks. Unlike the 2010 sale, the new owners are making significant changes in inventories. For example, the Heads Up brand headliner fabric Whitney has sold for more than a decade is now on clearance (no grays unfortunately). They also are clearing out the lip style trunk weatherstripping I used on #5939. > > > > DeLoreans have been deleted from Whitney's database, which means you can no longer order things like custom fit car covers. Covercraft still has the pattern (according to other online retailers, at significantly higher prices), but without a part number even Whitney's live help people can't order one. Customer purchase histories were wiped clean after the sale, so I can't look up my last order number. > > > > The new owner also is not going to offer 15%-20% discounts. Whitney is still honoring coupons already issued, but those are expiring soon so if you have one, use it while you can. > > > > Bill Robertson > > #5939 > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: > > moderators@... > > > > For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com > > > > To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
