Spend the $250 and have it towed to DMC FL.  Nobody else is going to know how to fix it, and if they try they'll damage it and you'll then have to spend the money again at DMC FL anyway.  Might as well get it done right from the beginning otherwise you're jeopardizing the entire transmission.
