Ron: One item you mentioned concerns me, and I think you should re-consider: <Snip> Oddly enough, some of the feedback I've received (in the last few hours) has been to NOT publish a link to the bylaws, as those who are flaming us would love to find ways to rationalize faults in it. In fact, there is a call to remove such until the world "becomes normal again". Such will be withheld at this time. <SNIP> Your bylaws SHOULD be public and published for all to read, especially people considering joining the club. That said, the decision to not publish them should not be YOURS ALONE. It would be a vote of the board which is discussed, voted, and recorded. The statement above appears that you alone have made the decision to hold the bylaws private based on "feedback" but does not mention a source of the feedback. OK...now for the REAL WORLD truth: Yes, the bylaws will likely be criticized.... BUT SO WHAT!? They are not set in stone. If you function like a normal club, any member of the club can suggest revisions to the bylaws, which are then reviewed and voted on by the club members (not the board) at the next general meeting or paper ballot voting. Why did I call this "Real world"? Because this is exactly what the DMA went thru! We found issues in our bylaws, members submitted changes, we voted, and it was corrected! Don't assume the bylaws are perfect as they stand or will never require change. Change is good, and you should welcome input (or criticism) from the public to fix any loopholes. But....only a MEMBER can document changes and put them to a vote for change.
