Yeah, but that same pawn shop has been on TV a few times before because they've been found to lie and cheat customers on scrap gold prices. Last summer they ran another investigative report where 1 jeweler was willing to pay $100 for a 24K gold necklace, some other places were between $60-$80 and still acknowledged it was 24K. Then they went to this place and the bald guy was caught on camera lying telling the person that what they had was only 14K and that all he could pay was $30. It's one thing to say, "Hey it's only worth this much to me because it's all I'm willing to pay." That's fine, that's business. But when you tell someone that something isn't worth that much because you're actually lying to them about what they have, that's not a fair let alone honest business practice. Only tourists go to that place. As for the car, I honestly thought they dodged a bullet not buying that one. Unless it was a historical DMC-12, a well documented car with a history stretching back to when it was first delivered (not some random douchebag trying to unload something he inherited), or someone finally comes up with a viable alternative to the transaxle, there is no way in hell I'd pay that much for an Automatic. $13K tops. -Robert VIN 6585 "X" --- In dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, "jtrealtywebspannet" <jtrealty@...> wrote: > > You must keep in mind the pawn shop will offer what they consider a wholesale price or less, they still have to be able to sell it retail and make a profit. The car looked nice and $15K wholesale is probably close to correct. It looked like a $20K car or maybe more. > David Teitelbaum ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
