Hey Ben, Ed Bernstein is no longer affiliated with the DeLorean Owners Association. He even refuses to advertise in DeLorean World. Good suggestions for going forward with the magazine. We will make every effort to accommodate some good tech articles and service provider info in future issues. Keep the suggestions coming! Great to have some input and feedback! -Josh Josh Haldeman - Vice-President DeLorean Owners Association -----Original Message----- From: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Bender Wallace Sent: Thursday, January 13, 2011 3:10 PM To: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: [DML] DeLorean Owners Association?? Please excuse me if I sound a bit biased. I used to be a member of the DOA years ago, good magazine, but felt a little too closely tied to Delorean One, which most Delorean owners I know of steer clear of. Myself included, considering I also have had a bad experience with D1. With the magazine going forward, I would recommend more info on services and offerings of the other Delorean facilities and custom shops, as well as tech sections, as in the 'Deloreans' magazine. Again, it's been a couple of years since I've read Delorean World, so my thoughts on the matter may be. . .outdated. Just my 2 cents! ~Ben To: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx From: lordshill@xxxxxxx Date: Wed, 12 Jan 2011 22:58:24 -0500 Subject: Re: [DML] DeLorean Owners Association?? Josh... I had heard notrhing on the Association for so long I just said screw it. A couple of years back Baker got me to renew for two years with the promise of an additional year for free. The last time I spoke with him he had left the DOA and I asked him about the magazine and what had happened. I told him he had enticed me to renew but nothing had changed since then. I expressed my disgust and he made a statement to the effect that he got my money didn't he. At that point I decided I would avoid the DOA at all costs. Josh..you are a good man and I wish you well in this endevor but I will wait to see results this time around. The e-mails that you posted was the first information I had seen in over a year. Hey Roy, See my other e-mail addressing this. I don't know why people continue to insist that the DOA is defunct. You guys have heard and read about Eurofest this May 26-29, right? Last I checked, the website is still up and running, complete with an events page, and several cars for sale. The new improved store project got under way this week, and we're looking forward to getting that launched again shortly. In the meantime, membership is still available through the site, or by contacting our long-time treasurer, Joan Truscott. Anyone interested in redesigning and updating the magazine website, should contact me! (jhaldeman(AT)fuse.net) The magazine should be in the mail now too. I'm anxiously awaiting it as much as everyone else is right now! I hope you guys like the new format, and get interested in contributing to it! We'd love to hear your stories, and share them with the community if you'd like us to! I kinda feel the same way.. I do not have anything good to say about that outfit. Looks like they are defunct, but it would be nice to hear something from them. Perhaps a status statement. This forum could take a poll..Is Delorean Owners Association Dead on arrival? Is DOA dao? I, for one think it is stone cold dead. Last month, I (foolishly?) renewed my membership with the DOA... which appears to be DOA except for taking my money and sending me an old copy of DeLorean World magazine. Are these clowns for real? Their web site says to stay tuned for the Summer 2009 issue. WTF?
