Because if the car get's hit while in your parking lot at work, your claim will be DENIED.. Whenever insurance threads come up, I always see people talking about how much money they save with "specialty insurance", which is fine, if you want to assume the risk when using your property in a way the insurance company deems non-compliant. Now, all the responses will come with people saying "I drive my DeLorean to work/school all the time, and never had a problem"..
