[DML] Lexington wrap up and thanks!

Dear DeLorean Community:

I just got back from the Lexington show, and wanted to say thanks to
everyone who came! It's exciting to see the torch get passed to so
many young owners. The recent explosion of BTTF conversions is simply
staggering.

The cars make DCS a great show, but it really is about the people. The
DeLorean community is a rare grouping of creative, intelligent, and
highly ethical car lovers. The reason we all get along so well is
because there is a little Doc Brown in all of us.

I have never felt so welcome in the community, or inspired to
participate in my local club. I will redouble my efforts to talk up
the car to prospective owners and get more people living the dream. We
owners have a sincere duty to drive our cars frequently and keep them
in the public consciousness.

And when the public does see them, they should see them at their best.
If we keep our cars running strong and looking tidy, we can provide a
unified and positive representation of the DeLorean marque.

This is why I want to say thanks to everyone who supported the vendors
this weekend. The vendors are the backbone of the vehicle's longevity,
whether you're a concourse purist or a hardcore customizer.

Our cars may be antiques, but they still look futuristic, even today.
Many vendors are literally inventing parts to bring DeLoreans up to
snuff with the state of the art, improve some of the car's engineering
shortfalls, and help the dream evolve. This is what JZD would have
wanted. He believed in iterating on and optimizing a design. He was
never one for nostalgia. Anyone who doubts this should read "On a
Clear Day you can see General Motors."

Finally, I want to thank everyone who volunteered at the show. For
those of you who don't know, the DCS show is run almost entirely on
volunteer help and support. Keep that in mind before you critique and
politic. If you didn't like something about the show, offer to get
involved!

I hope everyone else had as great a time as I did. And I hope everyone
had a safe drive home today.

See you all in Orlando in 2012!
