I've had my car for 5 years, and had to recharge the refrigerant (converted to R134 by previous owner) every year. It was leak tested, O-rings replaced, recharged every spring. The car is stored for winter months, and every spring, no cold air. I have read that the long runs of tubing from the compressor to the front of car can actually allow the R134 to actualy leach through, due to the smaller molecule size of the refrigerant. I replaced the tubing with Hervey's spliced version (I know Rob Grady sells it too)that is compatible with the R134. had them replaced last summer and recharges then. Thsi spring, my AC was cold as ever, and believe the tubing replacement solved the issue of losing refrigerant every year. --- In dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, "miller99501" <kamiller@...> wrote: > > hi group > Took the car out from its winter slumber and now the air conditioner doesn't work!! it worked just fine when I stored it. The pump turns but I notice it doesn't engage like it did before, I checked the fuse, its good, checked the low pressure side, its also good. > Any advise where to look now? > > thanks in advance > Kevin > 4556 > ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
