My opinion - It depends on how you use the car - If you drive it regularly, then get a nice mid-range battery, maybe an interstate MTP-78(DT) . If you only drive it once or twice a month, get an optima yellow top, which is more expensive, but tolerates sitting a little more. And if you only drive it several times a year, get a less expensive walmart battery, a battery disconnect switch, and a trickle charger. Just don't be upset when you have to replace it in a few years. I am trying to search the old post, but not finding much. I want to replace my batter, and know I need a group/type 78 side post version, but forget the details. Also, is there any real difference between and Optima, Sears Die-hard, and a batter I can pick up at Walmart? If Walmart is OK, what kind should I choose? Thanks!
