Hi John, You can get M5 rivnuts with a ribbed surface - this will dig into the fiberglass slightly and prevent it from slipping under (reasonable) torque. Also, you can substitute stainless steel machine screws to prevent them from rusting in the future, granted, the only ones I found were pan head, not truss head, but they still work in the application - it beats rusting, IMO. Check Fastenal or McMaster-Carr. Travis On Jan 20, 2010, at 8:22 AM, dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: > Group > > I had to drill out the old Rivnuts that attach the lower side rocker panel to the car. I was thinking of using Fiberglass filler to glue in the new Rivnuts. I am curious what has been used in the past, any input on what works best. > > Thanks > > John > Vin 3760 ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
