The same happens in reverse, stating that you have the car (or item) they are looking for, and will send you the full sales price + some other transaction fee that they would like to have sent back via Western Union wire (HAHA!). You also can't even trust anyone in person since fake bank drafts and cashiers checks are appearing all the time, and it may take your financial institution close to 2 weeks to clear it before you know if it is fake. By then your title and car are long gone. I also get solicitations to stuff i'm selling on craigslist all the time, and getting very old. It makes you not want to sell anything. The FTC, state attorneys offices, and other consumer protection agencies need to start prosecuting these cases and make them headlines. It doesn't matter what it is they find pictures and send them to you. They ask for a relatively small "good faith" deposit (in a Money Order usually) and from then on you get all kinds of stories why you can't see the car or come to pick it up. This general theme recurs often, it is happening again. Just be very careful who you do business with and try to never give any money "up front". Try to actually SEE the car and the person you are negotiating with first. If they won't it is a BIG red flag. That or be prepared to lose your deposit. I do not in any way mean to infer that any particular transaction is fraudulous, including this one. Just some common sense guidlines in dealing with strangers. > David Teitelbaum > > --- In dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, deloreanernst@ wrote: > > > > > > Good... I hope you get to see it.
