It's pretty clear that the cars Delorean sells now and soon the Solstice are not practical cars. They're fun cars. As such, they tend to go for more money. At the same time I would like to pursuade Delorean management to do something on the practical side. Making sense of engine computers is a huge mess. The trend keeps going towards requiring anyone who wants to work on a modern car to pay through the nose for specialized equipments and software updates. I would like to see Delorean take the initiative to roll back these practices. When new designs start coming out of Delorean, I want them to be consumer-friendly. I want to be able to change the spark plugs without having to lift the entire engine. I want to change the headlights without dismounting the front wheels. A car computer isn't a bad thing, let's just make it easy to get into. -- David Griffith dgriffi@xxxxxxxxxxxxx A: Because it fouls the order in which people normally read text.
