The other thing to keep in mind is that you shouldn’t count on your new D being your only car, at least at first. It’s a good car, but until you know you can rely on it every day, have a backup vehicle. Its often worth putting a few $ into your current car to keep it going if you can. Even if the backup has no AC or ths shocks are a bit tired, if it runs safely, keep it around for a while. Your new D is likely to have one or two little surprises for you.
