Hi David,
I bought mine through ebay in 2001.
The individual selling it was with a dealership, so that circumstance  
should be considered.
It was located only about 6 hours from my home, so no huge deal if it  
had not panned out.
If the car had not been as described, I would have voided the  
transaction upon inspection.
You've just got to pick and choose wisely.
