 The hardware store also has cutting pliers... I forget the actual name... that will bite a screw or a nail off flush (or pull it out.) Haven't used one on weatherstrip but a new pair will bite off a big ol' nail like nothin.'

You could try your local hardware store, and and cut the ends off. If you get 
dimples in the stainless on the roof, you didn't cut them short enough. (i.e. be 
very careful going this route!)

You're going to have a hard time finding them with the metal still attached - 
that was NOS that ran out some time ago, that's why everyone just sells the 
rubber part now. 

Can't help you with the screws, we use rivets too.
