If it is slipping there is not much you can do about it without pulling it. It will be immediately obvious when you get the parts on the floor. There is no definitive way to inspect things assembled and it doesn't matter, whatever is wrong cannot be fixed until the clutch is removed. At this point it is not mileage alone, age is a big factor. I would do it sooner rather than later before you damage the flywheel and have to have it ground.
