I'm hoping to be able to count on a large majority of DeLorean owners across the Southeast to attend the following event in Florence, AL: --- Tickets On Sale For 'Back to the Future' Reunion FLORENCE, Ala. ? Tickets are now on sale for the 25th Anniversary 'Back to the Future' reunion, a special event of the University of North Alabama's 2010 George Lindsey UNA Film Festival. The reunion will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, March 5 at the historic Shoals Community Theater in downtown Florence. 'Back to the Future' screenwriter Bob Gale and actors Lea Thompson, Marc McClure and James Tolkan are scheduled to appear at the reunion. The event is co-sponsored by BTTF.com. General Admission tickets, which are $15 plus tax and processing fee, are now available for purchase at www.LindseyFilmFest.com and at the UNA Bookstore. The George Lindsey UNA Film Festival is one of the few film festivals hosted by a university. The event was founded in 1998 by UNA alumnus and celebrated actors and entertainer George Lindsey. Lindsey's own film career has included several important roles, including the character Goober Pyle on "The Andy Griffith Show". For more information on the 2010 George Lindsey UNA Film Festival, visit www.LindseyFilmFest.com, or contact the film festival staff at lindseyfilmfest@xxxxxxx or 256-765-4592. --- I would love to see a fleet of DeLoreans invade Florence next March for this event, which is certain to be heavily attended with Lea Thompson attending along with Bob Gale, James Tolkan and Marc McClure. Those of you who may be fans of Division II football, the University of North Alabama Lions are currently ranked #1 in the country. UNA Football Head Coach Terry Bowden (former head coach for the Auburn Tigers a decade ago) attended this event earlier this year and I suspect will be in the audience once again, along with actor George "Goober" Lindsey whom the festival is named after. The North Alabama area also has several nearby attractions and points of interest should you decide to make the trek to our fair town, including: - Helen Keller's Birthplace (http://www.helenkellerbirthplace.org/) - Alabama Music Hall of Fame (http://www.alamhof.org/) - U.S. Space & Rocket Center (http://www.spacecamp.com/museum/) Oliver & Terry Holler will be at the event with their DeLorean Time Machine parked out in front of the classic one-screen movie theater, and there are other details and surprises for the event being put together now. Further details on this event to follow soon. Hope to see you there!
