Just for comparison, I pay $15 a year to be a member of the DMA. My $15 goes to attending a spring social tech session with free inspections from Rob Grady, a summer fun run event, a fall foliage tour with planned driving route, discounts for parts from PJ Grady, some meals paid for by the club at events, cost for the website, and club insurance. All the hard work by the officers is volunteer. I don't possibly see what a national club like the DOA would have to offer that a local club does not, besides the magazine. It just seems more like creating a hierarchy and the DOA wants to have control for 'all things DeLorean'. DCS has already done anything that that DOA could hope for and I believe Steve S had it right when he said "I don't see how the DOA deserves the right to raise its reputation by riding the coat tails of what Ken has created in the DCS." What has paid membership to the DOA brought to you? Many of the items you point out are benefits the club has just by existing (not by paid membership). DMA is invited to parades, TV filmings, featured at BTTF gatherings/showings, has club gatherings, etc. Do you feel that you have seen benefit by the DOA to justify the yearly price tag? > > [moderator snip] ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
