Already looking into it, but you got some numbers I didn't have, so I'll add them to the list, and make sure we talk to these groups. Thanks! Josh From: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Michael Substelny Sent: Tuesday, October 20, 2009 10:33 AM To: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: [DML] DOA/DCS Josh, I recommend that the DOA board investigate how other car clubs do it. The insurance, publications, etc. cannot be too different from one national car club to another. Compared to its peers, the DOA's $75 price tag seems awfully steep. Here are some examples: The Studebaker Drivers Club is as low as $10/year (no magazine option) or $27.50 including their excellent MONTHLY magazine "Turning Wheels": http://www.studebakerdriversclub.com/joinsdc.asp The Packard Club costs $40/year: http://www.packardclub.org/ The Bricklin International Owners Club also costs $40/year: http://www.bricklin.org/BI_ClubMembershipInfo.htm The Porsche Club of America is $42/year (longer memberships cost less/year): http://www.pca.org/Membership/JoinPCA.aspx Even the venerable Classis Car Club of America is only $60/year: https://members.classiccarclub.org/Join.aspx The Ferrari Club of America costs $100-$135 depending on where you live, but they put on some spiffy events: https://www.ferrariclubofamerica.org/join.cfm I believe that the DOA offers a product similar to the Packard, Bricklin and Porsche clubs, so $40/year should be about right. The DOA board would do well to figure out how these other clubs have kept their dues below $75. - Mike Substelny VIN 1280 No virus found in this incoming message.
