So we have had a lot of talk here recently about the OEM radio, but this past weekend at DCS west in Vegas, DMCH unveiled a nice new product that is going to be available shortly. It is an aftermarket radio for the Deloreans with TONS of nice features, and it fits in the console and does not block air vents or AC controls. A picture of the prototype is here: http://photos.grenexmedia.com/Events/Delorean-Car-Show-2009/Saturday-Car-Sho w/9812873_Crb3p/1/666487017_GodBf/Medium It is slated to have: GPS (Free map updates for 3 years), Video playback (MP4), Audio playback (MP3), Ipod hookup, 3.5" touch screen, SD card slot, USB, Aux Audio Jacks, Bluetooth, removable faceplate, HD TV Tuner, Stylus pen (you can use finger tip or stylus), and Optional wireless rear backup camera. price is estimated to be about $750-$800. It will have a wire harness to plug right into existing wiring, and will very easily mount into the car with little trouble. It's a single unit (no extra "brain" box.that I saw or know of) and looks very nice, but the final faceplate design has not been chosen. Several display faceplates were on hand at the show to get feedback from consumers on style and button configuration and look that we preferred. The pictured display was the one I liked the best, while two other models had physical volume "knobs" on them. One of the two units not shown was very square, blocky, and ugly.like a cheap Wal-Mart replacement radio..I told James and Steve NOT to use that one! ;) I replaced my OEM radio several years ago and sold it to someone in Germany for $350. I replaced it with a $175 pioneer radio with Aux jacks for my Ipod. Now I am thinking of upgrading to one of these units when available. It's got everything you could want, and the price is not too high for what you are getting (IMHO) Kevin Abato Vin# 16680 www.grenexmedia.com [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
