The belt sizes are different for the Motorola and Ducey alternator brackets. I have my Motorola on a Ducey bracket and boy, the wrong belt does not fit! Wayne A. That can damage the internal cords and cause quick failure. You have to loosen the large bolt that "hinges" the alternator and the 2 bolts on the tensioner arm. You will need some wrenches and a prybar to hold the alternator while you retighten it. You should recheck the tension again after a few days. On new belts they stretch and you may have to retighten. The best test is to try turning the alternator by the fan and if the belt slips you should tighten some more. If the alternator/water pump belt died you should consider replacing the A/C belt and the idler pulley bearings.
