I adjusted the cable at the cam and the problem went away. --- On Mon, 9/21/09, jtrealtywebspannet <jtrealty@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: From: jtrealtywebspannet <jtrealty@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [DML] Re: Auto Trans slipping in drive To: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Monday, September 21, 2009, 3:38 AM Immediatly check the line pressure and the fluid level. If both are good as per the procedures in the Workshop Manual you are in trouble. If there was a lot of friction materiel in the pan you are also f-cked. If the line pressure is low you might only be looking at replacing the filter. Do not drive on a slipping transmission, it will only cost you more when you have to have it rebuilt. I have a procedure to disassemble and clean the filter and reuse it if you don't want to replace it. Ouch. If you drive easy on it, it can go a very long time like this though. > > Dave S (the other one) > > > --- In dmcnews@yahoogroups .com, "dsontos" <dsontos@> wrote: > > > > Just finished replacing some leaking seals in trans and engine, changed fluids in both when finished and now I noticed when I start out in Drive on a moderate acceleration the trans starts slipping until I let off the throttle a little and then it grabs again. I haven't checked the fluid pressure yet, I guess that's the next step. Or have I committed the ultimate sin and changed the transmission fluid. > > > > Dave Sontos > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
