Hi Randy, So are you saying the car will not restart after it has been warmed up? If so, have you replaced the fuel accumulator? This is a commone cause of hot start problems on the Delorean. As far at the catalytic converter is concerned, it should not be glowing red. This is an idication that excess fuel is getting burned up inside of the converter, which can also damage the converter, so do not run it until it gets red hot. Does the engine seem to stumble, or does it run smoothly? I would recommend replacing all of the spark plugs, wires, and distributor cap if you haven't already. It is possible you aren't getting spark in a chamber and the fuel is getting burned up in the cat. You can test if you are getting spark by removing the spark plugs one at a time. Hold the tip of the plug against the engine block holding it from the rubber tip (don't touch the plug itself!), and then have someone turn over the car. You should be able to see a spark arc across the plug. There are other causes for a glowing red catalytic converter, but this is an easy place to get started.
