[DML] Contact Cleaner vs. WD-40

Some time ago, I saw a DeLorean owner clean some of his contacts with WD-40.  I was kinda surprised by that, but the guy insisted that WD-40 was just as good as contact cleaner.

Has anyone else seen this?  Has anyone else tried this with any success?
