I'm beginning to reassemble my engine after a major "valley of death" refurb. It occurred to me as I replaced the a.c. belt idler pulley brackets that it would be quite easy but really "inconvenient" to drop one of those chunky spacers into the inspection hole that's temporarily exposed in the timing cover... which fortunately I did not do... while fumbling around half blind in that narrow space. (At least I don't have the water pump and hoses in the way at the moment.)? But it made me wonder- would you have to pull off the timing cover to get that thing back out? And maybe the rear fascia as well?? BTW, what have others done to keep that "o" ring in that loose groove on the inspection plate? I used spray gasket adhesive. -Wayne A.
