Go to radio shack and get this relay http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3020762 and install it in place of the OEM AC Panel light relay for the panel lights. The panel lights will be out until you turn on the marker or the headlights and, when on, they will be burning on the resistor at lower intensity and much cooler. The replacement relay should be a SPST rather than the OEM SPDT which is what does the trick. Or, you can just clip the center wire (it s/b the LGW wire) to the OEM relay plug-in. Warning!!!!!!!!!! Don't attempt this if you are not auto electric savvy and sure of what you're doing. Messing around with relays can be dangerous and can cause fires and possibly serious damage to your car and you.
