Elvis, it sounds pretty fishy to me.  I'm currently shopping for a Peugeot and I'm getting all sorts of stories on a French site.  I'm getting "It's in Togo and needs to be shipped back to France, and "I'm leaving in 3 days so I only want 1000 Euros (instead of 1500) and will have it transported to you.

Tell him that you have friends in the states and would like to have them pick up the car for you and store it.  I can message him and tell him that I'm in the states and would like to pick it up in person.  If he says "I'm out of town on business", or "it's in a storage unit in another town" then it's probably a scam.

Farrar, just click "view original listing" and you can see the auction.  I have to do that a lot.  I keep changing my registration back and forth between Germany and the US so that I can bid on auctions on both continents (some sellers restrict their auctions to local bidders only).
