Re: [DML] Help with lighting problem

Lights master switch or (more likely) the "saver" board.

Keep in mind that running the "saver" only saves the no-longer-available, original switch; it doesn't really fix the problem.  If you take it apart, you will likely find it by seeing some crispy wiring, a broken connection, a blown fuse (only if the saver came with one --I don't know), or some problem at the LMS.

It will probably be obvious when you look at it.  If you want to replace it, the DMC centers have a more elegant, fused solution.

Subject: [DML] Help with lighting problem

Hi All,

I'm a first time postee, long time member. I want to write about my 81, vin
#4981 and the sudden problem I am having with my lights. About a week ago, I
noticed that the instrument panel lights did not come on when I turned on
the headlights. After looking closer, I also do not have tail lights, no
side lights, or parking lights. I DO however, have headlights, brake lights,
turn signals, and the radio panel lights up. I obviously have checked the
fuses, even changed the ones that pertain to interior and exterior lights
but still, no lights. I am open to suggestions. About 2 years ago, I had the
headlight switch saver circuit board installed. Before I start digging into
the dash, I wanted to ask the advice of this group. Any suggestions would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks.
