Mike, I have the same issue with a 75 Bricklin I bought from CA. I bought it from a guy who told me a bill of sale was all I needed to register the car in IL. WRONG. I went to the DMV and they will only take a title. A bill of sale means nothing to the DMV. We have been trying for two months to get a "Pink slip" (CA version of a title) the way the CA DMV told us to do it. There recommended solution is not working for us sooooooooooo we are taking the "lien title" route. Mechanics lien titles, while not the approved school solution, seem to be the answer to trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Linda was right. Find out what is involved in a "lien Title" and that may be the answer for your situation. It appears to be the answer to mine. Bill "Plan for the worst, hope for the best, anything better than worst is to your advantage". ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
