Hello Andy and Group, We have been using a pneumatic needle scaler for years that effectively removes frame coating under minded with rust. The tool also exposes frame areas that need to be removed with a pneumatic chisel. Removed frame and structurally weak areas can be TIG welded with 1/8th, 1018 steel plate. There are several two part coating systems that are helpful in rust and chip resistance. The pneumatic needle scaler and chisel are available on line $75.00 each. (Don't purchase extra needles as the original set last a life time). Suggestion, remove the lower control arms and look inside the inspection hole behind the control arms. You may be amazed if not startled by the cavern of rust inside the frame. We posted all "how to" details with pictures on a prior post : see DML archives. If you want to do a first class suspension system job, checkout our website for lower control arms with urethane bushing included. http://www.DeLoreanupgradeparts.com Good luck and good chipping.
