This is pure speculation on my part but I would doubt they would have gone through that much trouble. Usually when they need things to move they use people to push or pull it from off-frame including the cameras and the sound equipment. Much more versitile and less complicated. They can vary the set-up, speed, etc. No complicated systems to break or go dead in the middle of a shot. Besides, if it was true I am sure we would have heard more about this by now. I think one car was sacrificed in order to be connected to a hydraulic boom for hovering shots, and eventually ended up on the sound stage for the tour, but I never heard that rumor. But more to the point, why would someone drive a car on a sound stage? The whole point is supposed to keep everything as stationary as possible. Even if you did need sound effects, that's what Foley artists are for. > > I doubt that any one except the studios owns the original movie cars. Not that a situation like this could ever be impossible, but after reading the story of the Black Beauty, and seeing how other studios deal with originals and replica cars from movies, I do seriously doubt anyone has their car on loan. Sounds more like confusion of facts where someone ends up telling me DeLoreans had helicopter engines, and were built in Utah again... > > -Robert > vin 6585 "X" ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
