Hi All, Chris Hawes nudged me to post on this topic although I hadn't planned on it. Somehow I don't think people will want to pay $215 for one of my drives now, but maybe I'm wrong :-) Redesigned, sealed to the stub axle, single piece incl the big nut (no little circlip), and most importantly USER SERVICABLE. After one year of availability, no owners have yet contacted me for spares, but there's a bundle of new stub axle cables sitting on my desk here as I write this. I EXPECT the cable to break at some point - hopefully years and many thousands of miles on. It's just impossible to keep the internals totally sealed and contamination will eventually cause the gears to bind. This is a design compromise, and rather than produce an insanely expensive 8:9 right angle gearbox rather than a pair of screw gears, it seemed the most obvious solution was to allow the owner to repair it when it failed. Thanks to the change in exchange rate, what was $299 on ebay last year is now $215 delivered. Why so expensive? They are hand-made to order with no quantity discount by the firm who designed them for me.
