I have often wondered why windshields are still made from glass. Why not make the windshield out of thicker transparent vinyl? Or for better scratch resistance, you could use a polycarbonate material. As long as it can be pushed out from the inside in the event of an accident, I can't see why it would be a bigger problem than glass. I hope someone can answer this question. I have no engineering experience, just a load of questions. :) Farrar Hudkins #2613 cbl1739 wrote: > > > Ever wonder how your windshield is made? > > Here is one reason WHY it would be Expensive to make a batch of new > Delorean Windshields...the most EXPENSIVE part of making a New Delorean > Windshield is the Bending Frame jig...watch the video towards the > ending to see how that is done. > > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fg3moEI9V5g > <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fg3moEI9V5g> > > Claude ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
