This is an old story, but I haven't posted it for years so . . . In the early 1990s when I was shopping for my DeLorean, a friend tried to convince me to get a Porsche instead. One of his arguments was that the Porsche community had great support through a magazine, Porsche Panorama. He said a low-production marque like DeLorean would not have a magazine, so real car enthusiasts would never take it seriously. A lot of his Porsche friends agreed with him. Somehow a magazine legitimized a car. There was a pathway to connect with vendors and other owners. When I discovered DeLorean World (via Hemmings Motor News) I felt better about my quest. I had a way to connect with the DeLorean community. Thanks to DeLorean World I *did* buy a DeLorean. Now it is almost seventeen years later, DeLorean owners have new ways to connect. Magazines are so twentieth century, even the DML is a quaint old technology. But there is still a generation of owners who value magazines. I am glad these magazines are available. - Mike Substleny ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
