Please make sure you're not buying old tires ... don't forget the date
codes which are at the end of the "DOT" stamp on the car. (e.g. DOT
X0XX ABCD 5107, the last four digits indicate the tired was
manufactured in the 51st week of 2007.)

Tires manufactured prior to the year 2000 had a three-digit code
instead of four, but I wouldn't trust any tire older than seven years
anyway.

Some of you may already know this, but I wasn't clued in to it until
earlier this year. Apologies if I'm posting widely-known info.
